The Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Matchup Against the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Houston Astros winning the championship in the 2017 season.

The Toronto Blue Jays advanced to their initial Fall Classic after the 1993 season by overcoming the Seattle Mariners in the decisive game seven of the ALCS.

Trailing 3-1, the star outfielder smashed a three-run home run in the seventh inning, leading the Toronto squad in MLB to a 4-3 victory in the series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, the team that is the defending champions, in the upcoming World Series.

"I'm thrilled for everyone here, the city, Canada," said Springer, a key player of the Houston Astros team that secured the 2017 World Series. "This is such an unbelievable moment."

The veteran has now slugged 23 total playoff homers, making him third in history behind Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (27).

"It's hard to imagine another person anywhere that I want up in that moment besides George Springer with his playoff prowess," said Schneider.

The Mariners, after leading the early in the series, continue to be the one club yet to make an appearance in a Fall Classic.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson commented "without a doubt that it's painful" after his club's elimination at their home ballpark, but applauded their performance this season.

"They're an exceptional squad. Unfortunately that we had to come out on the wrong side of the series," he remarked.

Toronto's team secured the title on their two prior appearances in the early 90s, and are set to host the Los Angeles in game one on this Friday.
