Jurgen Klopp admits rejoining to lead Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club is a possibility. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-season tenure that included continental glory and the Premier League crown since 1990, currently occupies roles as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won the Premier League in the previous campaign, though countless followers who adore the manager would welcome the idea that he may eventually return. In a wide-ranging interview, he told his interviewer: “I said I refuse to lead a different club in England. Which implies should it be the Reds...yeah. It's plausible.”

“I’m 58, which suggests I could make the decision down the line, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. Fortunately, I don’t have to do that. I can just see how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about the specific conditions must arise to bring him back to management, Klopp admitted he isn't eager for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, I enjoy my current role,” he commented. “No longing for management; No desire to be during downpours for lengthy sessions; I'm glad to skip interviews repeatedly each week or constant media duties a week.

“The locker room isn't missed as a dressing room, but sitting in a restaurant alongside the squad having a nice chat, that’s nice. Success was frequent so there was often positive atmosphere in the building. I still have the captain's chuckle ringing in my ears as an instance.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly regarding Arne Slot, crediting him for the adjustments which secured the championship in the previous season. The team has suffered four in a row across various tournaments following significant transfers, but he rubbished the idea that it might signal a slump.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, critics will regret if you use the wrong words. A remarkable prospect. [Hugo] Ekitike, incredible player. They have a strong thoughtfully assembled roster. You don’t have to worry regarding the Reds, they'll bounce back.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in in 2020, and the effect at the club. Jota died tragically in a vehicle collision with his brother this past summer.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, it's his character. It's hard to picture the team environment absent his presence. Putting it into words is tough regarding this. A profound tragedy for his teammates also. Not a single person might employ it for poor performances yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area where he was omnipresent. Dealing with that emotionally is difficult. Overwhelming.”
