Former Physician Faces Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
